Bio
Mr. Hassan Farah Mohamed has graduated from University of Hargiesa, Faculty of Law, and later Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies at postgraduate Diploma program. He is now a dully licensed lawyer from the Ministry of Justice and Conflict resolution practitioner. Mr. Hassan worked with the PILPG Somaliland Project, during this time Mr. Hassan received an extensive training in all legal issues from international lawyers, and he also trained and provided crucial legal advice to Somaliland Parliaments (Lower and Upper House). Mr. Hassan worked with other international and national development organizations. Mr. Hassan worked with the Hargiesa Local Government and worked as the head of Fixed Asset and Title Deeds office. Mr. Hassan was selected, from among almost a hundred candidates, as the Legal Adviser to the Somaliland House of Representatives. Currently, he is the Legal Analysis Editor of Somaliland’s first legal journal, Qaanuun Law Journal.

Mohamoud Abdirahman Nour is practicing lawyer since his graduation from the University of Hargeisa Faculty of Law. Mr. Mohamoud joined Gargaar Lawyers Association and later was elected to be the Executive Director of Gargaar, the most influential law association in Somaliland. During the times Mr. Mohamoud has been involved in the legal services, he has represented hundreds of clients in both civil and criminal litigation. He has specialized his litigation practice in defending free speech by providing extensive services to media organizations in Somaliland. His high-profile media cases include Maalmaha newspaper v. Daallo Airlines, Hargeisa Star v. Mohamed Shugri, Waaheen newspaper v. Police Commissioner, Waaheen v. Somaliland Electric Agency, and Universal TV cases.
Currently, he is Editor in Chief of Somaliland’s first legal journal, Qaanuun Law Journal.

Mr. Casey Scott Kuhlman is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School in the United States and is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association. His practice is focused on advising foreign entities in compliance areas. Before becoming a lawyer Mr. Casey as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps. His experiences in the Marines led him to write a New York Times Best-Selling book, Shooter with Jack Coughlin. After going to Vanderbilt, Mr. Casey has worked with the prosecutor’s office of the Special Court for Sierra Leone where he worked on the Prosecutor v. Charles Taylor. He also worked with the Public International Law & Policy Group as the Chief of Party for Somaliland Project, which focused on developing the capacity of the Somaliland Parliament as well as providing expert international legal advice to the Parliament. Currently, he is English Language Editor of Somaliland’s first legal journal, Qaanuun Law Journal.
